The Pantheon, a massive tower that was designed to protect a Buddhist temple from destruction, has been built on a plot of land that was originally intended to be used for a military base.
The Pantheon was built by Chinese architects Wang Yi and his company Zhongshan and is located in China’s far western region of Sichuan.
The building’s total cost is estimated at $4 billion.
The construction was originally announced back in February, but the deal fell through due to a variety of issues.
The new owners say they are still looking to build the structure, which they say is more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
The project was officially announced last week.
It’s the second tower constructed in China in the past month.
It was designed by architect Wang Yi, who previously designed the new Beijing Tower.
